Supporter Profiles

Investors Groupinvestors web

The Investors Group has been a long term supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters.  During Bowl for Kids Sake, they participate in (and often win) the Corporate Challenge.  In 2014, Jim Sullivan had an idea about how they could provide new and different experiences for our Littles.  Investors Group provided the seed money to create the Kids Opportunities Fund which covers lessons, team costs, arts tickets.....any opportunity that will expand our Littles experiences.

Property Guysproperty guys

Kenny Singleton and the staff of Property Guys have been making our Gold Cup Parade Float plans a reality since 2008.  Each year, Kenny is involved from the planning stages, helping take the theme to a workable plan for float construction.  He builds the superstructure and then staff from BBBS & Property Guys join him to construct the float.  He also provides the towing truck and driver.  We wouldn't be able to participate in the parade without his support.

Home Depot

In fall 2014, Team Home Depot made some renovations to our offichome depot webe which made it warm, inviting and more organized.  Staff, who were volunteering their time, insulated, drywalled, and painted reception.  They also laid new flooring, installed cabinetry and painted two other offices.  Materials were provided by the Home Depot Foundation.  We can't thank the staff and management of Home Depot enough for all of their hard work!

Subwaysubway web

In 2013, Subway will be joining the Bowl for Kids Sake campaign for the 13th year.  Each year, they provide all of the subs for 6 Bowl for Kids Sake locations across PEI.  That breaks down to food for more than 1700 people!  For 2 days in March, 5 store managers work hard to make sure that the food pick ups are well coordinated.  We are so proud to be able to offer our hard-working Bowl for Kids Sake participants such a great snack during our event!

MBS Radiombs 2012

MBS Radio has been a long-time supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of PEI. Each year, they provide advice and support during our Bowl for Kids Sake and Dream Cottage campaign. In addition to our regular radio ads, MBS Radio staff provide a lot of on-air and social media support. In 2011, MBS Radio raised their level of support to include a 12 month public service campaign that focuses on recruiting Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Big Couples and In-School mentors. PSAs run in regular rotation on Q93, CFCY and Spud FM. Response to the campaign has been extremely strong.

Guy Richardsonguy

Some people just have a connection to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Guy Richardson is one of those people. In the past, he was a Big Brother. Today, Guy is an amazing gardener and the owner of Four Season Landscaping. Two years ago, Guy came into the office and offered to design and maintain the gardens in front of our office. The beautiful garden at the base of our sign is a show stopper! In 2012, Guy added a garden of Bleeding Hearts to the side of the office.

PEI Home & RV

Each January, Rob Hambly works very closely with BBBS staff to choose the best possible floor plan for the Dream Cottage, which on several cottage 1occasions has meant redrawing parts of the house plan.  He helps staff make decisions design decisions that ensure that the Dream Cottage is a showstopper while keeping us on budget.  In late April, the professional staff move the cottage into location, which is a huge job (see photos on Facebook!) and move it to its final location at the end of the campaign.
