Fundraising Tips

We are encouraging every bowler to raise $100 or more this year, so that you will receive a t-shirt, a Dream Vacation ballot, and recognition on our Wall of Fame at the bowling alley!  An Island fundraiser is going to win an Exclusive, Escorted Trip for 2 to a Caribbean Destination with The Travel Store’s Exclusive Holiday Reunion 2013.  

Raising your first $100 really is easier than you think!  For every extra $50 you raise, you’ll receive another ballot and you can double your ballots by raising money on-line.   And there are other great Raise & Win prizes

Our Bowl for Kids Sake Team is available to support your team with ideas, encouragement, and the necessary tools to fundraise.  Check out our Facebook or Twitter sites for the Fundraising tip of the day!  And use our donor checklist to  make sure you don't miss anyone!  Here are some of our favourite fundraising ideas:

 Successful Personal Fundraising

·         Pledge yourself first – ask your friends to match your donation

·         Ask your most generous donours first to get momentum going

·         Sign up for On-line Fundraising and then email! email! email! 

·         Ask your Facebook friends to sponsor you

·         Take your pledge sheet everywhere

·         Remember people need to be asked – tell them why you are involved

·         Celebrate your accomplishments!

Easy work fundraisers

·         Set up a company etiquette jar – offenders pay between $1 and $5 for crimes like being late for work (or meetings), if cell phones go off during meetings etc

·         Auction or raffle work perks like the best parking spot, lunch with VP, company items, day off with pay etc

·         Drink the company coffee  – challenge everyone to drink coffee at work and donate what they would have spent on fancier coffee

·         Have a Team spirit day – for $5 employees can wear team shirts etc (could use Superbowl as theme)

·         Auction a Manager job-switch opportunity (could be for half day/full day)

·         Hold a bake sale or silent auction.  Ask people you know to donate items and sell tickets

·         Hold a weekly 50/50 draw

·         Donate Casual Day funds or sell a month or year worth of jean days for set price

·         Ask your employer to match your team’s contribution or to pledge your team (we’ll provide the tax receipt)

·         Hold a $100 bill draw which raises $100 (ask us for instructions)

Other great ideas!

·         Ask 10 people to pledge you $10

·         Ask all the people you supported by buying chocolate bars, raffle tickets, subscriptions, etc. 

·         Sell Bowl for Kids Sake Raffle tickets.  They are $5 each and you only need to sell 20 to make your first hundred!

The money you raise, will help us:

·         recruit and screen volunteers

·         professionally support our matches

·         run programs like Kids N Kops

·         host events for our Big/Little matches

·         provide materials for In-School Mentors
