Kevin Mouflier is the winner of beautiful Dream Cottage # 14, which was raffled off by Big Brothers Big Sisters of PEI.

Surrounded by a full audience, Constable Tara Lee with the City of Charlottetown Police Department drew lucky ticket number 2221. Because Mouflier tagged their ticket, he has a choice of keeping the cottage, built by Prestige Homes, which comes fully furnished or taking $50,000. He has seven days to make his decision.

This year the Dream Cottage Draw sold out a day early selling 11,900 tickets to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of PEI. The new $50,000 cash option was very appealing to everyone. You can be sure that Dream Cottage #15 will feature a new and exciting layout and the $50,000 option will be there to choose from.

The Dream Cottage is a major fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of PEI, the money raised is used to recruit, and professionally screen all volunteers and children, as well as support the special friendships made between volunteer mentors and children. Currently, we are serving nearly 190 children all across PEI.  We offer four distinct mentoring programs: Big Brother, Big Sister, Big Couple or In-School Mentor. Every summer we partner with the Charlottetown Police Force for a week long Kids N’ Kops Program.  Our matched “Bigs and Littles” also enjoy special Big Brothers Big Sisters events throughout the year, like our Annual Halloween Bash, Christmas Party and Winter Sleigh Ride.

Big Brothers Big Sisters has one mission – to help boys and girls achieve their full potential through long term, personal relationships with dedicated volunteers. Amazingly, after only twelve months in a mentoring match, children involved in the program are twice as likely as their peers to avoid drug use, perform better in school and get along better at home and in the community.

Yvonne Cartner, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of PEI would like to thank everyone for purchasing a ticket or tickets and supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of PEI. She also states “although there is only one winner of the cottage, the real winners are the children we serve. Making more matches across PEI will make a tangible difference in the lives of many children”
