Effective January 1, 2004, all organizations that collect, use or disclose the personal information of their customers, clients or employees in the course of their commercial activities will be subject to new privacy legislation.  And while Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Prince Edward Island does not conduct commercial activities, we are still committed to controlling the collection, use and disclosure of the personal information provided to us by our volunteer Mentors, families, donors, volunteers and other key stakeholders.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Prince Edward Island is a non-profit registered charitable organization that is committed to protecting the privacy of our children, their families, volunteers, donors, and our employees. Any personal information collected or provided by telephone, e-mail, fax, donation receipts, pledges, cottage tickets, regular mail, in person or through our website is governed by this privacy policy.  We collect and use personal information primarily to carry out and maintain our organizational mission which is to enrich the lives of children in-need through volunteer Mentoring.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince Edward Island respects privacy.  We protect all personal information and adhere to all legislative requirements with respect to privacy.  We do not rent, sell or trade our mailing lists. 

We use your personal information to provide services and to keep you informed and up to date on the activities of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince Edward Island, including programs, services, special events, funding needs, opportunities to volunteer or to give, or to conduct market research and surveys in an effort to continually improve our services, through periodic contacts from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince Edward Island.
